As 2024 draws to a close and we prepare to welcome our first Lalela residents this holiday season, let’s take a moment to reflect on the incredible journey Lalela has undertaken this year. With each milestone and each brick laid, we’ve begun to build not only homes but a community. 

Sales Success:

Sales have progressed well this year, reaching our trigger for land sales of 17 sites sold out of 39. We are hoping to transfer these sites before Christmas this year. The turn-key homes are tracking well with only 2 available in our first phase, and phase 2 and phase 3 at over 50% sold. 

Infrastructure Update:

N2 Interchange

Since our last communication, we have made continued progress behind the scenes leading to the commencement of the N2 interchange. Geotech and road safety plans have now been approved and the scheduled construction start date is the 31st of January 2025.

This will be a transformative infrastructure project for the North Coast, enhancing the accessibility within the area and providing a crucial route that will ease traffic congestion in outer regions. Not only this, but the new interchange will be key to unlocking the Sheffield area, bringing in tourism and attracting investments.

The P228 is complete

If you’ve visited Lalela lately, you may have experienced the smooth drive through the newly completed road. You may have also noticed that there is a section before and after the bridge over the N2 that has not been completed. This will be temporary but is necessary as part of the N2 project and falls under SANRAL. However, we will smooth out these sections as best we can for a comfortable drive home. We appreciate your patience during construction, and we’re thrilled to see this vital connection come to life.

Progress at Lalela:

Homes are ready for move in! 

The first 40 homes in phase 1 have now been completed and we look forward to welcoming home the pioneer Lalela residents this December. Final touches on the roads within are taking place and landscaping is on it’s way to delivering the cul-de-sac community with beautifully manicured curb sides and gardens.

All fencing and pipe works have been completed, providing a secure perimeter for the residents within. The electric fencing and biometric entrance is to be ready by the 1st of December before our new homeowners arrive.

More to look forward to…

We have recently received exciting news, plans for the Lalela facilities have been approved by the local municipality! This means we can now begin construction on-site with the courts, clubhouse, pool and play areas. We hope to provide residents with these facilities from May 2025. 

In the mean time, we have managed to organise a temporary pool for those who might like to take a dip before then. This pool will be located within the cul-de-sac community and just steps away from our new homeowners front door. We hope to have everyone making a splash by the end of January 2025!

Homeowners Induction Day:

The Lalela HOA recently hosted our Phase 1 homeowners for their inductions before move in. This was a wonderful way for our new residents to get to know their fellow neighbours ahead of moving in, they also got to know the ins and outs of the estate they’ll soon call home.

The Christmas Fair with Flair:

The elegant Manor House Venue recently hosted the much-loved Christmas Fair with Flair. This annual event brought together a vibrant mix of holiday cheer, unique shopping experiences, and a warm community atmosphere. We support the Fair with Flair for the incredible initiative they run, supporting 28 charities that are all locally based. We commend the many ladies who volunteer and devote their time to ensure it goes smoothly each year. This is just one of the many special events that Lalela homeowners can look forward to each year – right on your doorstep. If you missed it this time, don’t worry—we’ll see you there next year for even more magic and merriment!

As construction of this “first for South Africa” resort continues at a pace, we are soon to be launching an Exclusive Collection of 66 privately owned, hotel managed, villa-suites. You can find us this December at the Club Med pop-up at Lifestyle Centre. Located next to Zara’s and opposite the new Waxy’s.
